About Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary therapy widely accepted in the UK and is recognised as being of benefit by the NHS, many GP’s and hospices. By applying pressure to the reflex points on the feet, hands and face the objective is to aid the body to maintain / regain a state of balance. Doctors agree that many of our health problems can be linked to nervous stress and tension. Reflexology can be a very relaxing treatment and relaxation can play a large part in stress reduction.
Reflexology is not a beauty therapy or a foot massage; it is a therapy which for many people helps to bring relief from a variety of symptoms. With the appropriate training it can be safely enjoyed by people of all ages, from babies to the elderly, by pregnant women and those undergoing chemotherapy.
Whilst reflexology can be very beneficial alongside conventional medicine, it should never be used in place of seeking professional medical advice.
Continuous Professional Development is very important to me, so since my initial training I have undertaken CPD modules in the following areas: Reflexology for people living with cancer; Reflexology during pregnancy, childbirth and the post natal period as well as offering training to parents for them to give reflexology to their babies.
I offer reflexology on hands, feet and face. It is very useful to be able to show clients specific reflex points that they can work on their own hands in between appointments. Facial reflexology is extremely relaxing and the massaging techniques used, with facial oil, have the added benefits you would expect from a beauty facial.
I have recently completed a further Diploma course in Nerve Reflexology. This involves working a completely different set of reflex points on the bones of the feet as well as working the classic reflex points in the fleshy areas of the feet. This approached is explained in more detail here.
Reflexology sessions: The Initial appointment is 1.5 hours, subsequent appointments are 1 hour.
